• Honda Program Requirements

    Basic Knowledge and Skill Requirements

    In order to qualify, and continue to be qualified for the Honda and Acura Certified Collision program, your shop must be an I-CAR Gold Class Professionals shop.

    Training Requirements

    Starting January 15, 2022, one person in each of the three (3) roles listed below must take all nine (9) of the required Honda courses through I-CAR, to meet Honda's Training requirements. One (1) person may not satisfy the requirements for multiple roles. The shop may satisfy Honda & Acura training requirements via staffing options 1 or 2 listed below.

    1. At least two (2) structural technicians and one (1) estimator.

    OR

    2. At least one (1) structural technician, one (1) non-structural technician, and one (1) estimator.

    CSI System

    Shops must maintain a Customer Care (CSI customer contact) system.

    Tools and Equipment

    Have and maintain tools and equipment as required by American Honda. (See separate sheet.)

    Facility Standards

    Maintain prescribed facility standards including but not limited to cleanliness, adequate customer parking, safety, security, work processes, and customer communication.

    Third-Party Inspections

    To determine a shop’s initial qualification, and for each succeeding year that shop chooses to participate, shops will be inspected by a third-party independent auditor.
